Dartmouth Buildout Study
This parcel-based GIS buildout calculation estimated the maximum additional single family and two‐family development that could occur under current zoning in Dartmouth, Massachusetts. The Town will use this study to plan ahead for growth and conservation. To create the estimates, I used a series of GIS calculations to take into account characteristics of each parcel such as area, road frontage, wetland coverage, and permanently protected status. Further calculations took into account zoning requirements such as minimum lot size, minimum frontage, minimum upland area, and minimum new road width.
