Library of Traditional Neighborhoods
This series explores the design factors that give existing places their appeal using photos, diagrams, simple sketches, site plans, and maps. The library is an educational tool and reference aimed particularly at town representatives who have expressed their preference for new development resembling traditional neighborhoods and town centers. Each area is also “measured” for key zoning and development characteristics including setbacks, lot size, lot coverage, and density to enable comparison with towns' existing zoning requirements and eventual implementation of better regulations.
